Abrasive Flap Discs

Flap discs use diagonal layers of sandpaper on a resin fiber backing. Flaps are glued onto a multi-layer fiberglass or plastic backing plate. New grit is continuously being exposed as the flaps wear down providing consistent performance throughout the life of the disc. The design of flap discs allows them to run cooler reducing warping of thin metals such as body panels.

Type 29 (Beveled) Flap Discs

• Grind and finish at the same time
• Conical flap discs (Type 29) are angled and designed to be used on contoured and edge work
• The angle provides greater surface contact for stock removal on flat surfaces
• Discs cut cleaner, faster and cooler reducing clogging and glazing
• Longer lasting than conventional fiber-backed abrasive discs
• For use on flat or curved surfaces
• Quieter than grinding discs
